hypnotism and eczema

Hypnotism for Eczema?

Now that I’m on the West Coast, finding a hypnotist was…super easy. I actually found mine through my insurance company’s therapists page. The person I found was both a certified therapist and certified in all kinds of alternative methods like hypnotism and Reiki. After everything I’d tried and failed, I figured hypnotism for eczema was worth a shot.

I saw her one January when my skin was super, super sad. At the time, I was still taking Dupixent. My skin was so bad, though, that I couldn’t even straighten my elbows enough to safely drive some days without the skin cracking all over, seemingly no matter what I did.

So, I started seeing her from a sense of total desperation.

One of the first things she had me do was lay on a table, and she put a crystal over me that moved in different directions at different points of my body which apparently meant something. She then placed both hands over my body, as if they were hovering, and moved them higher and higher.

Her readout from these “tests” was that my energy field was nearly entirely depleted. She said I was living, but barely. While this, frankly, aligned pretty closely to how I felt, man was it bleak to hear it from this woman I’d just met.

What did we try?

She gave me a specific mix of Bach Flower Remedies that I was to take each day. These are infusions of specific wildflowers and an alcohol that are supposed to rebalance a person’s emotional state. I’d never heard of them, but there’s actually quite a lot on the internet about them.

Each flower is supposed to address a different state, e.g. fear of losing control, impatience, etc., etc. I took these for a week or so. I was supposed to get a new formulation the next week. But, I noticed absolutely no difference in my eczema symptoms.

The next week I saw her, she suggested we do a past-life regression instead of hypnotism for eczema. This was a bummer because I was really hoping she could just hypnotize me to stop itching, already!

She told me given my heritage (Irish, German), I probably had some sort of “major trauma” from a past life that was trying to work its way out. I’d read about Past Life Regressions in a book I’d stumbled upon recently. I believe the book is called Awaken Your Inner Goddess (which was kind of a fun read) and was somewhat intrigued but the more I read the scarier they seemed. I ultimately stopped seeing her and did not go forward with the Past Life Regression.

The whole experience sort of scared me away from finding another hypnotist, too. Honestly, though, I might be due to re-try this since I still haven’t found my eczema cure.

Note: if you made it to this page directly, please take a look at the main page of this site, which outlines far more “standard” potential cures for eczema that I’ve tried at the top! For example, my more “standard” trials include working with a therapist.

Happy scratching!
